We’re talking about facial self-tanners, without the fear of waking up orange. We’re discussing cluster lashes that stay on for days. We’re chatting about eyebrow dyes and lip stains. Throw in the popularity of SNS or GelX nails. Beauty trends are shifting toward lower-maintenance in-the-moment (though most of these take higher maintenance prep).

Other ways to
go semi-permanent
If makeup and self-tanners aren’t you’re thing, that’s okay! There are tons of ways to subtely upgrade your routine in other ways, that could also be deemed semi-permanent.
Teeth Whitening
For example, teeth whitening is a big one, and I accidentally stumbled upon a budget-friendly UV light with treatment gel before my brother’s wedding.
After just one use, I was hooked, and I used up all the treatments before the big day. According to the color chart they sent with the device, I went six shades whiter.
Here’s the device I used: It’s called the PurelyWHITE Deluxe Teeth Whitening Kit, and it’s only $28.50 on Amazon!

Still, there are other ways you can improve your daily aesthetic.
Nails, nails, nails
As mentioned above, there are tons of mani/pedi options at nail spas across the globe. Currently, I’m seeing SNS dip and GelX nails trending, but don’t count acrylics out, either. If the upkeep is too much for your budget or routine, you can also always keep your nails trimmed and filed, with plain polish.
Here are some trending colors for fall 2025:
Light Caramel: Like Essie’s Paintbrush it Off, $5.99 on sale (reg. $10) on Amazon
Vampy Red: Like Londontown’s Lakur in You Autumn Know, $16.00 on Amazon
Grey-Blue: Like Zoya’s Kristen, $12.41 on Amazon
Of course, Cherry red is always in, as is black for the cooler months!
